The Boone Central Board of Education met on Monday, November 12th, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. in the Boone Central Middle School Library located at 203 E. Widaman, Petersburg, Nebraska.  Members present:  Tom Briese, Cindy Hemmer, Karen Kayton, Patti Meyer, Tim Preister, Larry Temme.  Others present:  Darrell Barnes, Mary Thieman, Larry Lambert, Gay Sandman.

 

1.000        CALL TO ORDER  - President Temme called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

                 1.001      Motion by Kayton, second by Meyer to approve the agenda.  Carried 6-0

 

                 1.002      Motion by Preister, second by Hemmer to approve the minutes of the board meeting held Monday, October 8, 2007.  Carried 6-0

 

                 1.004      The next regular meeting is Monday, December 10, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Family Consumer Science room in Boone Central High School in Albion.     An agenda will be kept current in the SuperintendentÕs Office.

                                2.081  Elementary PrincipalÕs Report – Mr. Hamilton was at a preschool parent meeting. He sent NWEA results and data regarding reading intervention for 4th & 5th graders. 

                                         

                                2.082             Middle School PrincipalÕs Report – Mrs. Thieman reported on the Math Peer Review, 2006-2007 State Report Card, and NWEA results.        

                                2.083             Secondary PrincipalÕs Report – Mr. Barnes reported on Veterans Day Program, NWEA results, and an early graduation request.

                                         

2.084 Special Ed DirectorÕs Report – Mrs. Olson was absent. She sent a report on workshops she has attended in the last month.

                            

                               2.085  SuperintendentÕs Report

1.     Facility up-date – Greenhouse bid was $160.  Security cameras have been installed in the elementary.  New cameras have been installed in the new school buses.  Bathroom renovation costs were $20,500.   City Council meeting tomorrow night about parking near school.

2.     Winter sports enrollment:  Boys Basketball - 31, Girls Basketball - 23, Wrestling -18.

           3.040   Motion by Preister, second by Meyer to accept the bid from Jarecki Lawn Care for the lawn care contract for the summer of 2008 for Boone Central Schools.  Carried 6-0
